Measuring Your Windows

Outside or inside recess the measurement you have will be the sizes you enter into the width and drop boxes within the ordering field. Please note the manufacturing tolerances for the width of the blind is within plus or minus 2mm (0.2cms) of your required size. The drop will be generally within 1.5cms longer than you require as the pitch between each slat is a fixed standard distance and this does not necessarily equate to the drop measurement. This can be adjusted on the lift cord when in place. Firstly the size you measure is the size your made to measure blind will be. So please be careful when measuring, it is always good practice to measure twice. So if you are measuring your window for outside or recess the end result and the measurements you have will be the figures you enter within the drop and width fields within our shop.

Measuring Instructions

For an accurate measurement please use a metal tape measure and take measurements in centimetres to the nearest 0.1cm. All our blinds can be fixed into the face of the window frame or wall, or into the top lintel - allowing total control of the depth your blind can be positioned in the depth of your window recess. Choose whether you want the blinds to hang inside or outside the window recess. Please check for proximity of adjacent walls, furniture, window handles etc. when measuring for your blinds. • For blinds to hang inside the window recess:

 

Measure the width of the inside of the recess (wall to wall) in three places and Subtract one centimetre (1cm ) from the smallest measurement to allow clearance down each side. This gives the blind width Measure the drop by taking the measurement from the top of the recess to the sill in three places Take the smallest measurement. This gives the blind drop Enter width and drop in the boxes provided within the online shop. This is the exact size of the blind you will receive. Outside recess fitting

For blinds to hang outside the window recess: Measure the overall width that you want to cover with the blind This gives the blind width. Measure the overall drop to include overlaps at top and bottom of the window. Check for any obstruction which might foul the blind in this area This gives the blind drop Enter width and drop in the boxes provided within the online shop. This is the exact size of the blind you will receive. Measure the exact area you would like the blinds to cover as shown.

• Always use a steel tape measure for all measurements.

• The width is always the first measurement recorded.

• Always measure every window, even if you think the windows are the same. Our blinds are custom made to fit, therefore each window must be measured individually.

• Record all measurements in millimetres.

• Please measure window exactly, as we will make adjustments for brackets.

What is INSIDE MOUNT?

Inside mount refers to a blind that will be installed inside a window frame or encasement, where the window is recessed and the blind will hang inside the window frame/encashment.

What is OUTSIDE MOUNT?

Outside mount refers to blinds that will be installed outside the window frame and overlap the window frame. Please note outside mount blinds will cover the window and will provide the most light blockage and privacy. Erfleks will not take any deductions from an outside mount blind. The blind will be manufactured to the exact measurements specified. Before deciding to go inside mount please be aware of any obstructions such as knob, handles, window winders, inner window frames. If you find any of these please outside mount your blinds. You require 25mm clear depth of frame for the blind to go up and down without any obstructions.

How to measure INSIDE MOUNT?

To fit inside the window recess;

• Measure the exact width inside from left to right of the window recess at the top (A), middle (B), and bottom (C).

• Take the smallest of the 3 measurements

• Please write this down.

• Measure the exact height inside from bottom to top of the window at left (D), middle (E) & right (F)

• Then record the longest of the heights on the form.

THIS IS THE HEIGHT YOU WILL ORDER.

Inside Mount

Width measurement – measure top (A), middle (B) and bottom (C) and record the smallest measurement on your form

How to measure OUTSIDE MOUNT?

• Measure the width you require from side to side of the window at top (A), middle (B) and bottom (C). Then record the longest of the widths on the form

• Measure the height you require from bottom to top of the window at left (D), middle (E) and right (F). Then record the longest of the lengths on the form.

Outside Mount

Width measurement – you need to measure the top outside frame from the top left hand corner to the right hand corner of your window frame

Height measurement – you need to measure the height on either side of your window and record the largest measurement.
