The air window collector has a vertical blind. The experiments have been carried out under actual outdoor conditions. The vertical blind was installed between two 1.20 m by 0.80 m glass panes. The vertical blind can rotate about vertical axis. The blind makes a 90° angle with x-axis when it is in fully open position. The commercially available vertical blind have been made of aluminum slats and coated with black paint, which were used as energy absorbing surface. A fan is used to circulate the air in the system. The various parameters were measured and recorded using data acquisition system. The effect of flow rate, separation distance between glass panes and inclination angle of slats on the thermal performance of air window collector were determined experimentally and presented in graphical form.
